I remember reading this story about a sales man for Boeing Aircraft company selling a multi million dollar aircraft to one of his customers.

After looking at the specs and wonderful engineering he customer asked "So; how much is the plane?" He said "This state of the art aircraft will cost you 14 cents per passenger seat per passenger mile"

What he was saying was instead of costing millions of dollars he broke it down into a definable and understandable amount.

I always loved that story and I got thinking, what do bunk beds cost the parents? Well, I have done the maths. Our top selling Bunk Bed is the Charlene at $449. The average life of Bunk Beds are 8 years. The time spent sleeping for kids is on average 10 hours per night. So the cost of you kid sleeping in a bunk bed is 0.01 (that\'s 1 cent) per child\'s bed per sleeping hour. But there is more, that's the cost for kid for one bed. Bunk Beds are half the cost. I like to think this way when buying quality. I know there are some cheap imatation beds out there, but when you work out the life span of a bunk bed made with MDF and its cost per sleeping hour, our hight quality fully timber bunk beds are a great choice.

What does it cost to add an extra room? Lots of factors contribute to the cost of adding a room to your home. These include the type of room, size, location, materials, level of finish, the builder and so on.

The smallest room most people would be likely to add would be about nine square metres, while a more typical size would be around 12 square metres. Such a room would make, for most people, a perfectly acceptable extra bedroom. Renovations and extensions normally range from about $1000 to $2500 a square metre, with second-storey additions approximately 30% more.

If you work on a rough rule of thumb of around $2000 per square metre to renovate or extend, assuming a medium level of quality, you'll be pretty close to the mark.

Under this formula, a 12 square metre extra room is likely to average around $24,000, with the final price, depending on site accessibility, inclusions, materials, finishes and so on.

An alternative to all this is you could save all the hard work and costs by buying bunk beds.

Are you saving yourself a little space? Are you a mother who has more than one child? Then cheap bunk beds are the right ones for you. Of course, you want something that is cheap and affordable. But you have to be careful in buying one because you have to make sure that the bunk bed you are thinking of purchasing is well-made and safe for your children. Your child’s security is still the top thing you have to consider before the money.

Usually, you will really find bunk beds that are sold at a cheap price or on sale. When you come across a sale, make sure that the cheap bunk beds that you have chosen are really worth spending your money on. It is a must to examine its parts and the materials that are used for it. For example, know how difficult it is to assemble the bunk bed. Are there many parts that you have to put together? Every single nut and bolt that is used in establishing the bunk beds must be considered as one singular part that can easily become flawed. The material of the bunk bed is very important for it is also a factor in determining how strong and tough the bunk bed is. If it is made of metal, then it is supposed to be bulky and tough. The wooden bunk beds, on the other hand, should be expected to be sanded with varnish applied to it in order to avoid cracks while children climb up and down the bunk. The top bunks should be ensured of sufficiency of support so that dropping above the lower bunk can be prevented.

Still, buying bunk beds for kids in established stores is still the best way, most especially if the store is on sale. It will help you save much money in buying a bunk bed. You just have to find a great bunk bed that is affordable as well. Internet access can also help in finding the best bunk bed for you for there are so many alternatives on the internet. Actually, the goods that internet sites sell are usually cheaper than any local store near you.

Another thing to look out for is a cut-price bunk bed that is usually on display in the shop window. There are also display bunks that place an example model of the bunk bed and they are sold at a greater reduced price. Then after a cautious safety inspection that entails nothing is a problem, then it gives an opportune method in getting a cheap bunk bed.

However, you may not know it right away but the cheapest deal can be the best option for you. Most especially if the added discount on the bunk bed only results to your child being exposed to more danger and harm. It is still important to pay more attention to your child to save him or her from any possible danger.

Kids need a sense of fun and comfort in everything that they do or have, or anywhere they go. They are in a stage of play such as building a house or a hideaway. They are in need of a fun and vibrant feel. That is why white bunk beds are invented especially for children and there are a lot of reasons why most parents are tempted to buy them for their children.

One great reason why parents buy white bunk beds is they are good space savers. Bigger families have had problems with space restrictions in the past. But white bunk beds today have solved the problem by including drawers to use for storage which creates more space in the bedroom for the activities of children such as play or do other things. Also, their rising structure horizontally makes it easier to save more space in the bedroom. With the vertical space being underused, there is more opportunity for space management. Moreover, parents experience a great relief because they can put two children in one room and not sacrifice a lot of space that usually happens in small houses.

Another reason is that white Bunk beds act as a multi-purpose tool because they can be transformed into anything that you want using the futons on the lower bunks. Attachments such as study desks, drawers and dressers are also good features of these beds. They not only serve as a comfortable place to sleep, but as a place to study, to write, use the computer, store clothes, and other stuff. Because of this, they provide a more breathable room for children with enough free space and give more opportunities for slumber parties that children can really enjoy throughout their childhood.

Another reason that makes white bunk beds fun is the colors and styles it provides. They come in various colors and shapes that make them livelier to look at. They are also made out of different building materials. The most popular of all the materials is the wood frame bed. The next type that is also gaining popularity is the metal frame bed with different colors and styles which are already available in the marketplace.

White Bunk beds are also favored by most parents because they are safe for their children. They come with safety hand rails made especially for young children. Young children are more prone to falling off of the top bunk whether while sleeping or awake compared to older children. There is also a type of white bunk bed that is made lower to the ground that is suitable for the young.

Because of the classic and contemporary styles and the functionality that bunk beds have, purchasing a bunk bed is an obvious one. It is no doubt that they will also be a venture for a livelier and enhanced lifestyle for children because of the features they have. It can also serve as a classic yet sophisticated piece of art that will be decorate a child’s room for many days, months and years to come.

You don’t want them to fall off the top bunk, so if they are at that age, make sure they are safe. Back the beds up against the walls and/or in a corner to maximise space in the room as well as create a safer environment. If the beds appear to get old and rickety, be sure to shore them up or get new furniture. You don’t want to take chances on a collapse. Remember these are bigger and heavier than single bunk beds.

Surprisingly these beds can wear out over time and hard use, with kids climbing and scrambling in and out. Ensuring they are up to the sturdiness challenge is especially important with younger kids who don’t have a good sense of balance yet and would have trouble getting out of the way quickly if something should fall.

When I was a child, my family used to vacation with my best friends family a lot.

We would go on ski trips together, explore beaches together, and camp in the woods together. My favorite part of getting to the house we would be staying at, though, wasnt being in a new and exciting place or anticipating the coming activities it was racing to the room that my best friend and I would be sharing with her brother and checking for Bunk Beds.

I loved to sleep in a stack; I didnt care about being on the top bunk or the bottom bunk (though I preferred the top), I was simply excited by the idea of sleeping in a comfortable bed with a friend nearby. If the house or unit didnt have bunk beds, I would experience a deep disappointment here we were, on vacation, supposed to be having fun, but I had to sleep in a regular bed. I felt cheated. I would still end up enjoying our vacation, but never as much as when my friend and I were sleeping in bunk beds.

As a child growing up in a large family of six kids, it was very normal for us to sleep in bunk beds, as our house was quite small, Mum and Dad decided to double us up instead of extending the house by renovating. It was the best option at the time as the cost of living was very high, with school fees, food and clothing for six of us not including trying to go on a holiday or gifts for birthdays and Christmas was always not far away.

I was always jealous of the elder brothers who were able to choose the top, which didn’t matter that much because we were always invited up to the top bunk which always felt like a privilege. I still remember on Saturday mornings 3 or 4 of us would all climb up and just talk or tell funny stories. Even being left with the bottom wasn’t that bad, with a bit of imagination and a couple of blankets or towels, the bottom could be converted into a cubby house or your private hangout, all that was needed to finish off your cubby was a reading lamp or radio to make it feel really special.

Ah yes the memories of sharing a room with siblings, the pillow fights on the top, staying up after Mum and Dad went to bed and telling scary stories and other times laughing so much that your stomach would ache. We even devised ingenious pulley systems to share books or snacks, not only between the top and bottom but even to another bunk across the room.

With a little imagination they weren't merely beds in a room, but we imagined ourselves out in the open sea on pirate ships looking for sunken treasure. So we wouldn’t rouse our parents at bed time we would whisper our stories to one another, one by one they would fall silent until you were the last one whispering and you knew they all must have nodded off to sleep.

At times we were rowdier than our parents would have liked, so they would be reluctantly stirred from their bed to come and find the culprit making all the racket. The moment we heard the footsteps coming down the hallway we would all return to our assigned beds as quickly as possible, by the time the door handle began to turn we were all in sleeping positions complete with the odd snoring. All would go well until one of us cracked, that usually happens by trying to hold back from laughing by holding your breathe which of cause only builds up pressure and eventually releases as an enormous snort which of course causes an instant chain reaction of uncontrollable laughter including our parents.

The container of Bunks is due to arrive into port on the 31st March.

We have been told by the Port Authority that there is a slight backlog of shipments and the clearance should be 4-7 days.

So we are expecting them into our sometime in the first week of April. To be safe I would say the 7th.
